Commodity code changes
Commodity code 3824999238 ended on 27 July. The goods falling to that code have been absorbed into commodity code 3824999299.
Advanced notice - IUU Fishing measure changes on 3rd August
As of 3 August 2023, all measures of type “719 - Control on illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing measures” will be removed from geographical area group 3000 (“Non-cooperating countries in fighting illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing”).
In their place, measures of type “277 - Import prohibition measures” will begin on 4 August 2023.
These will impose proper import restrictions on the non-cooperating countries to better comply with retained EU legislation: Council Implementing Decision of 24 March 2014 establishing a list of non-cooperating third countries in fighting IUU fishing pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1005/2008 establishing a Community system to prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (2014/170/EU).
This applies to the following countries:
- Cambodia
- Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
- Union of the Comoros.
Authorised use updates on 4th August
Authorised use changes come into force on 4th August 2023 affecting the following codes:
- 8708502015
- 8708502025
- 8708502035
- 8708502045
- 8708502055
Updates to Switzerland and Liechtenstein preferential rates 4 on August 2023
Changes have been made to the preferential import duty rates as a result of an update to the reference document that come into force on 4 August 2023 affecting commodity codes under heading 2404.
722 Measure removal on 8 August 2023
On 8 August 2023, the measure type 722 - Entry into free circulation (restriction - feed and food) measures against Japan will end. These controls imposed special conditions governing the import of feed and food originating in or consigned from Japan following the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power station.
The retained direct EU legislation in The Food and Feed (Fukushima Restrictions) (Revocation) (England) Regulations 2022 has been revoked.
Amendment to CITES measures on 14 August 2023
Update to CITES measures affecting commodity code 4202390090 with a start date of 14 August 2023.
